Minx Nails - A Fun Green Polish Alternative

Minx nails are a trendy look for fingernails, especially in the celebrity circle. Minx nails are a heated polymer that is applied to the nail like a sticker. They are easy to apply, and they are a green alternative to nail polish and fake nail tips.

Minx makes over 100 designs, and some of the most popular are the chrome and other metallic designs. The same effect simply can not be created with nail polish. Minx can also create a custom design for you, and you can even have your own photograph used to make a nail covering!

The method of application is quite simple. First, a basic manicure is performed. The nails must be clean of all oils and residues for a smooth application. The coatings are heated under a lamp or hair dryer; this makes the coatings flexible and warms the adhesive. The nail tech then lines up the rounded edge with your cuticle and drags and presses the coating into place on your nail. A hair dryer may be used after the coatings are applied to further help the adhesive adhere to the nails. Think of this like shrink wrapping your nails, as the method for applying the coverings is similar to that process. Finally, a glass nail file is used to remove the excess coating material.

If you'd like to try Minx nails, they provide a salon locator on their site.
